Burqa-clad candidate at NEET-UG re-examination centre in Ajmer refused to remove burqa on 2026-06-21

A burqa-wearing candidate at a NEET-UG re-examination centre in Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Sunday 2026-06-21 alleged that she was prevented from entering the examination venue unless she removed her burqa and dupatta. The candidate, Kulsum Bano, who had travelled from Beawar to appear for the medical entrance test, claimed she was wearing the same attire as during her previous attempt on May 3. "I have come from Beawar to take the NEET exam. When I took the exam on May 3rd, I was in the same attire then as I am now: wearing a burqa and a dupatta," she said.

Bano alleged that she was first asked to remove her dupatta to enter the centre, but officials later insisted that she also remove her burqa.

"Initially, they said I would have to remove the dupatta to enter; then they insisted I had to remove the burqa as well. If the NTA has permitted us, these people cannot stop us," she said.

Madrasa Board abolished in Uttarakhand

Historic Move in Uttarakhand: Madarsa Board Abolished, One Education for All! ✨

In a bold and unprecedented decision, Uttarakhand has become the first state in India to abolish its Madrasa Board, setting the stage for a massive educational transformation! Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) has officially approved the Uttarakhand Minority Education Bill 2025, merging all minority-run schools, including madrasas, under the Uttarakhand Board of School Education. 

This means that for the first time, students from madrasas will study the same modern curriculum as everyone else — math, science, computer education, English, and more, alongside their religious studies. The aim? To bridge the gap and ensure equal educational standards across every community. 

Under this new law, the state will form a powerful new body, the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, which will monitor, regulate, and recognize all minority educational institutions. Every school will now follow the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), ensuring quality and consistency. 

But that’s not all — this move also replaces the old Madrasa Education Board Act 2016, marking the end of a dual system. The focus now shifts to modernisation with inclusion, giving every child — regardless of faith — a fair shot at success in a competitive world. 

While supporters call it a revolutionary reform that promotes equality and opportunity, critics fear it may affect traditional religious autonomy. Yet, one thing is clear — this step has sparked a nationwide conversation about how India’s education system can evolve to unite, not divide. 

In simple words: Uttarakhand just made history. From separate boards to one system, from tradition to transformation — this is not just an education reform, it’s a vision for a modern, united India.

Google now requires at least one face-to-face interview where using AI won't be easy

Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai announced the company will bring back in-person job interviews to stop cheating. 

More than half of job candidates are secretly using AI chatbots during online interviews to get instant answers. When people interview from home via video calls, they use AI tools off-camera to solve coding problems they can’t actually do.

This makes it impossible for Google to tell if candidates really have the skills they claim to have. Now Google requires at least one face-to-face interview where using AI to cheat is much harder.

A young man from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, who sells mobile phone covers on a cart, has set an inspiring example by scoring 549 marks in NEET UG 2024-25. Rohit Kumar, who secured an All India Rank of 12,484, now hopes to get admission to a government medical college in Jharkhand. Coming from a humble background—his father worked at a vegetable market—Rohit dropped out of college after Class 12 to focus on NEET preparation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked at a medical store, which sparked his interest in studying medicine.

Soumya Mishra and Sumegha Mishra are siblings. They hail from Ajaypur village, Ashoha block, Unnao district, UP. Visually impaired Ravi Raj from Nawada, Bihar, cracked the UPSC exam with an impressive 182nd rank. Supported by his mother, Vibha Sinha, who read aloud and wrote his answers, Ravi studied 10 hours daily despite his disability. While cooking, his mother played YouTube lectures for him. Later, Ravi would speak his answers aloud, and she would write them down. Together, mother and son battled every obstacle.

At the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in early January 2025, speaking to journalist Palki Sharma, the chairman of Mahindra Group emphasized the importance of quality over quantity when it comes to work.

When asked how many hours he works in a week, Mahindra said, “This is what I wanted to avoid. I don’t want it to be about time. I don’t want it to be about quantity. Ask me about the quality of my work. Don’t ask me how many hours I have worked.”Taking a dig at Subrahmanyan’s remark—where he questioned, “How long can you stare at your wife?”—Mahindra said, “I want to tell people that I am on X or social media not because I am lonely. “What do you do sitting at home? How long can you stare at your wife? How long can the wives stare at their husbands? Get to the office and start working.”

advocated 90-hour work week, wanted employees to work on Sundays too in videos and press articles which have gone viral in January 2025. 

This forum and its founder (viz. Deep Banerjee) is on the same page with Mr. S N Subrahmanyan. While supposedly 'working from home', people (mostly in the IT profession) hip hop the entire country alone or with family members and are more busy projecting themselves as travel bloggers and garnering subscribers. They love to be addressed as travel enthusiasts or automobile enthusiasts. If travel blogging or automobiles are their forte, they might as well quit their full time employment to pursue their passion. Rarely have we heard them saying that they are IT enthusiasts. 

If the bluff by these IT guys (who are anything but professionals) are pointed out, they try to justify their unethical act by saying that they try to maintain a 'work life balance' to avoid burning out. These irresponsible bluffers should be made to permanently 'remain at home without job'! 

In reality the large chunk of unethical IT employees who consider themselves to be an enlightened lot are simply moonlighting with no dedication to the profession that fetches them their bread and butter. IT companies are bound to adopt a stance of 'Zero Tolerance To Moonlighting' and strictly 'Ban Moonlighting' where the rot has set in across hierarchical levels. If they don't, they will perish.

Moonlighting - I strictly don't subscribe to it

Moonlighting? 

A strict NO for me.
Simply unthinkable. 

I remember boooooting out a Kolkatan in possibly his late 30s from Indian Roadie. He was the ubiquitous ITwala who was a pass out from some Ghanta Institute of Technology. He was extremely vocal in favour of MOONLIGHTING. Although he was pretty close to me, I was almost sure that he would backsta*b me sooner or later immediately after he got into a heated debate with me one evening on why he felt that moonlighting was his birthright.
I placed him under my virtual scanner. With almost 4 decades of experience in sales/ marketing/ communication, mingling around with thousands of people from all walks of life, I was certain that he just can't be an ethical person. Within about 6 months after that debate, he bared his fangs late one evening. It was clear that he reared an unprecedented level of grudge against me because I was not in the same page as him with respect to 'moonlighting'.
Needless to mention, I was Happy To Evict him from my professional initiatives after he stooped down to foul mouthing me on the phone. 

I am absolutely on the same page with Mr. Narayan Moorthy.

Ireland based tech giant Accenture, which employs over 750,000 people across 120 countries, is reportedly delaying the majority of its employees' promotions by six months. 

Last week, the company informed employees that most promotions will be announced in June 2025 instead of December 2024 timeframe, Bloomberg reported, citing sources. 

In October 2023 Accenture announced that it would not be providing salary increases to its employees in India and Sri Lanka in 2023, except where legally required or where commitments were made in critical skill areas. 

The company employs over 300,000 people in India.
